Tineke Strik in conversation with refugee and 'left-to-die' survivor Abu Kurke Kebato

Ten years ago the world was shocked by the tragedy of a boat carrying refugees that floated in the Mediterranean for days without receiving any help, despite the awareness of several coast guards and international organisations. The passengers were left without food, water or gasoline, a fate that resulted into 63 deaths. Abu Kurke Kebato survived this left-to-die boat and ended up in the Netherlands after an asylum procedure. Our MEP Tineke Strik is eager to hear from someone who has lived through some of the circumstances caused by the EU’s dubious asylum and migration policy.
