In this letter sixty-two MEPs call on the European Commission to recalibrate its financial assistance to Belarus in a way to cease all financial assistance to the Belarussian authorities and channel these financial resources to people, civil society organisations, NGOs and foundations of Belarus. Attached to the letter there is a document by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum that provides recommendations on funding priorities and short-to medium-term measures to support the Belarusian people.

In this letter sixty-five MEPs ask the Presidents of the European Commission and European Council to downgrade the European Union’s institutional and diplomatic representation at the G20 Leaders’ Summit, to avoid legitimising impunity for human rights violations and ongoing illegal and arbitrary detentions in Saudi Arabia.
